Master Gardener Grants and Scholarship Available!

The Barron County Master Gardener Volunteers are offering two $150 grants for worthy community garden projects. Projects must be gardening related and located in Barron County.  The applicant must be a non-profit group or organization.

Include the following information in your application:

  • name and location of the group or organization
  • contact person, phone number,  e-mail and mailing address
  • description of the project, the reason for the project and expected accomplishments.  Include a simple plan if appropriate.

Send your application to Kim Grover, Barron County UW-Extension MGV, 335 E. Monroe Avenue, Barron, WI 54812.  For further information, call the Extension Office at 715-537-6250.  Deadline for the grant application is April 18th, 2018.

A $500.00 scholarship is also available for an eligible Barron County student interested in pursuing an education in horticulture, landscape design or turf management.   Interested students should obtain an application from the Student Services Department at their high school.   The school will then forward the application to Kim Grover at the Extension Office.  Deadline for the scholarship application is April 18th, 2018.
