The Barron County Master Gardeners ANNUAL PLANT SALE is set for Saturday, May 20, 2017 starting at 8:00am. Located inside the Youth Expo Building at the Barron County Fairgrounds in Rice Lake, shoppers can expect to find a variety of perennials, shrubs, ornamentals and heirloom vegetables for sale.
Plant Doctor’s will be available to research your horticulture questions and help with choosing the proper plants for your garden. Feel free to bring pictures or samples of your plant problems for expert advice.
This year, a demonstration on creating your own container planting will be presented prior to the start of the sale. As an added bonus, shoppers will be able to submit their names for an opportunity to win the completed container to take home to enhance their own yard!
Barron County Master Gardener Volunteers are organized to encourage, foster, support and promote horticulture in the area and assist the UW-Extension from which they are founded. Proceeds from the annual plant sale are used to fund educational projects such as the Spring Garden Expo, grants for community garden projects and horticultural scholarships. For more information about the Master Gardener program, contact the UW-Extension Office.
